PAINTBALLERS - SPEED & FLEXIBILITY

PAINTBALLERS - SPEED & FLEXIBILITY

Dusun Ali King Paintball

Paintballers: Speed & Flexibility

Speed -

This is where it's at. Of primary concern for paintballers, being quick on your feet can keep you in the game. The important difference with paintball speed versus "regular" running speed, is that in an average paintball game, you rarely get the chance to run 30 or 40 feet in a straight line. There's lots of running at angles, ducking, dodging, etc. So, overall agility comes into play much more than traditional sprinting. One of the better ways to improve this is by running in a ZigZag pattern as part of your training.

Flexibility -

This is one of the most important factors for a paintballer. There are actually different types of stretches (Static stretching, dynamic stretching, etc.) Any of them will be a fine start, but if you want to get serious flexibility, to help slide and contort behind bunkers. Basically, stretch whatever body part, contract the muscle for a count of 10, relax, and ease the stretch a bit deeper.

Good luck and be a smart Paintballer.

Is Paintball, Dangerous?

Is Paintball, Dangerous?

Is Paintball, Dangerous?

Paintball is actually one of the safest sports in existence according to the valuable sources received by DUSUN ALI KING.
First let’s look at what paintball is. Paintball was originally a game of capture the flag with the added factor of elimination by marking another player with paint shot from some of the earliest paintball markers. Paintball today is an extreme sport which incorporates the use of paintball markers, safety regulations and safety equipment. When we define paintball this way, we are only looking at properly run paintball games, and this excludes a lot of potential safety hazards that could be present along with the improper use of paintball equipment. Accidents that occur when people are improperly using paintball markers, even if they are “playing paintball (but not properly),” cannot be considered paintball accidents and paintball cannot be considered any less safe because of them. Although, even if you were to add these injuries that occur outside of properly run paintball games, the statistics would still show paintball being safer than most, if not all, other extreme sports and safer than most, if not all, sports.

So let’s get something straight here. Does paintball have the potential to be very dangerous? Absolutely, as with anything else. But with the proper safety guidelines put in place and enforced, and with a little common sense thrown into the mix, it’s extremely safe.

What are these safety guidelines, you might ask? Well, they are very simple.

1. When you play paintball at Dusun Ali King, we insist u wear our imported n recommended paintball mask. You must be wearing a paintball mask any time you are within range of an aired up paintball marker that doesn’t have a barrel sock on. The mask must be designed and properly tested specifically for use in paintball, and must be properly assembled with a lens that is in good condition.

2. Always chronograph your marker before play, and if necessary throughout the day of play. All paintball markers must be chronoed 300 fps muzzle velocity or less. Also, this maximum muzzle velocity must remain under 300 fps throughout the day of play. This means a few things. First, it means that if you have an inconsistent setup, or if you are using CO2, then you need to chrono below 300 to allow for spikes, so that if it does spike it does not go above 300 fps. It also means that you may need to re-chono throughout the day to make sure that the gas pressure, and therefore velocity, hasn’t increased due to things like temperature change.

3. Finally, always have a barrel sock on any aired up marker that is within range of any person that is not wearing a paintball mask.

While there are several other safety precautions that need to be kept in mind, when those basic safety guidelines are followed and common sense (which includes unsaid safety precautions) is used paintball becomes safer then driving your car to the field.
What about the injuries that do occur while playing paintball? Well, there have been some.

There has been at least one reported incidence of a paintball related death caused by the malfunction or mishandling of a paintball air source. It happened when a CO2 tank was unscrewed from the valve while it was still pressurized. This turned the tank into a missile. That is why you need to always watch your tank and valve while unscrewing it from the marker and make sure that valve in turning with the tank, and is not unscrewing from it.**

Some modern Co2 tanks come with a “safe vent valve” which has a hole drilled into the valve threads to prevent this very thing from occurring.**

Most injuries, though, are the same that are present in any physical activity, things like twisted ankles and bruises. The most common “injury,” of course, are the bruises from the paintball hits themselves. These are usually not serious at all thought, and generally don’t “"hurt"” more then a few seconds. Things like this are almost always addressed quickly to prevent them from happening again.

Be a smart and a wise paintballers. Dusun Ali King wishes you all the best and good luck on your games.

Thank you.

Why mask fog. What to do? Ask Dusun Ali King Paintball Gombak

Why mask fog. What to do? Ask Dusun Ali King Paintball Gombak

Have you ever had trouble with your mask fogging up?

Have you run out of anti-fog spray? …… No fan? …… No Thermal Lenses. What to do?

Why masks fog

Mask fog when moisture from your face evaporates into the space between your mask and then condensates on your lens. This typically occurs at two times: when you sweat a lot and release lots of moisture from your face or when your face is considerably warmer than the outside air. The first situation typically occurs during hot days while the second, similar to a windshield that fogs, happens when the outside air is considerably colder than the air around your face.

Anti-Fog Spray

Many companies (paintball companies and other companies) market anti-fog sprays that are designed to keep moisture from condensing on flat surfaces. The basic principal is to spray a mist of the anti-fog onto your lenses and vapor will no longer gather on your mask and fog it.

People have reported mixed results, but it is the cheapest and easiest way to stop fog. I have found it to be helpful in delaying fog, but on a hot day it doesn't seem to prevent all fogging.

Mask Fan

Some masks come with built in defogging fans while some masks can be upgraded to use fans later on. Fans sit above the goggles and blow a stream of air over the goggles to cause condensed moisture to evaporate, thus eliminating any fogging, similar to a defroster on a car. Fans are somewhat expensive, require extra batteries, make a considerable amount of noise and are prone to break, but they do effectively reduce fog, provided they are working correctly.

Thermal Lenses

Thermal lenses consist of two lenses with a thin air-filled space between them. The air between the two lenses acts as a barrier between the air near your face and the outside temperature. This protective barrier keeps the inner lens closer to the temperature of your face, which limits the rate that moisture will condensate on your lens. Thermal lenses come with or are an optional upgrade for all but the most basic masks and I have found them to be the most consistently effective way of reducing fog.

Conclusion

Some people (usually those who perspire readily) have foggy masks no matter what they do while others never have to worry about fog. Any (or a combination) of the above methods can help keep your mask from fogging - experiment and figure out what works for you.

If you don’t want to spend the money, we at Dusun Ali King suggest grabbing some liquid soap and dabbing a small bit of it on the inside of your mask. This will eliminate fogging up.

If you don’t have any soap or have tried that, then we suggest wearing something to catch all the sweat like wearing a head cap, bandana or head wrap, something of that sort.

We also suggest pushing your mask up a little to allow more ventilation. Your mask fogs up when the air can’t get out. Try cutting more holes in and around your mask to provide more circulation.

We never recommend taking off your mask, so if it is really bad and you can’t see anything just raise your hand and scream for a referee or a friend to help you off the field.

Guys! Please share your suggestions or comments with us on this subject. Wud appreciate it very much.

Good luck and be a smart paintballers.

FOGGING MASK - More Tips

FOGGING MASK - More Tips

MORE EFFECTIVE NO FOG TIPS FROM DUSUN ALI KING PAINTBALL GOMBAK

Experiencing fogged up masks during paintball play? If so, read the following proven helpful tips to help prevent fogging so you can see your target clearly.

  1. Clean your mask after each use with soapy warm water, if available. If soapy water is not available, rinse with clean water. It's a good idea to carry bottled water to quench your thirst and rinse your mask.

  • When cleaning your mask, make sure your get all of the paint out of the cracks of your mask surrounding the lens. If not, it will streak when applying a no fog lens cleaner.
  • Completely dry the mask with a clean, dry towel or dry t-shirt.
  • Apply a no fog lens cleaner to the inside and outside of your mask using your index and middle finger and spray sparingly with the SPRAY BOTTLE.
  • BUFF the gel or liquid into the lens with a clean, dry COTTON t-shirt. Be sure to store your cleaning t-shirt in a dry place, duffle bag, ziploc, or backpack and use a clean section each time. Once you've used your t-shirt for cleaning several times, toss in the washer and dryer for next time.

  • Try to absorb most of the moisture (sweat) from the sponge padding on the forehead piece of your mask with an absorbent towel. Ideally, let it dry out before wearing again.
  • Wear a cotton headband, scarf or bandana to collect most of the moisture off your forehead, especially, if you perspire heavily.
  • We recommend that you use a no fog lens cleaner throughout the day and/or night, especially if you perspire a lot and are experiencing a lot of fog. We have found that it works well in very damp conditions.
  • Eyeglass wearers should apply no fog lens cleaner to BOTH their PRESCRIPTION eyeglass lenses and to their mask's lens inside and out.
  • Guys out there! Any suggestions, comments, please share with us, we wud appreciate it very much.

TYPE OF BATTLE FIELD @ Dusun Ali King Paintball

    TYPE OF BATTLE FIELD

Back to Nature at Dusun Ali King Paintball, Gombak. 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur.

Probably the most important issue in paintball is the type of battleground the game is to take place. The atmosphere of the game is determined by the choice of the field. Fields can be broadly divided into two categories: At Dusun Ali King Paintball, Gombak we have the natural and artificial field.

    a. Natural Fields:

Mainly untouched ground with characteristic flora and fauna. This type of ground is difficult to manage, but, still, it is the most preferred field.

    b. Artificial Fields: Completely, or partially, man-made fields.

ARENA: The most common name used for artificial fields. Plenty of tires, barrels, and trunks are used as barricades. Positioning of the barricades does not conform to a norm; it is up to the imagination of the designer. The main characteristic of the Arena is that it enables the public to watch the game as an audience.

The wooded fields are one of the most exciting places to play, the reason being that the woods provide protection for the players and thereby creating a little mystery in your game. When you can’t see the other players it makes the game more exciting and you can feel that adrenaline rush. Plus when you play outside in a wooded area the game takes on a sense of real combat like you are really in a game for your life.

The way you play the game is also different, you learn to play a better defense and offense, you have to adapt to your surroundings. You learn a sense of teamwork and you also learn a better sense of control, if you fire your gun and you don’t have a good shot then you will give away your position and it could jeopardize your position in the game.

Dusun Ali King wishes you guys a happy paintballing.

Things to Bring for a Paintball Challenge

    Blog Entry

Obviously you must come with a proper attire to play paintball. Some people feel much macho to dress up in full camo combat wear and with other added safety equipment.

Paintball hits can leave bruises and whelps. I personally recommends protective wear for paintball which it should be for comfort and protection. Remember your safety is very important.

We at Dusun Ali King would like to recommend you guys to wear the following paintball safety items for your own safety. To mention a few :-
    • Safety face mask. It will be provided on site or perhaps you may want to use your own camo mask.

    • You must wear durable running shoes or boots for running comfort.

    • We recommend long pants and long sleeve shirts (baggy for the best results). Please try to avoid exposing any skin when playing the game. You may want to wear shorts and a t-shirt underneath for added padding.

    • For added protection bring along a cap (to wear on top of your safety face mask), your gloves and ankle guard.

    • Bring along a sweat towel or anything to wrap around your neck for protection.

      You can buy a specialized

neck protector, others use just a bandana folded up and tied around your neck. For more protection you can place a tube sock diagonally on a bandana, then roll the bandana around it and tie the bandana around your neck. Your throat can be a very vulnerable place to be hit.

    • We have a shower and two reasonable size fresh water pools for your extra refreshment, so don't forget to bring along your shorts and shampoo.

THANK YOU AND ENJOY YOUR GAME OF PAINTBALL.
